Steves Plans for the Future
The last few days have been filled with lots of emotion. Many have asked what my plans for the future are. First off I intend to try to the best of my ability to honor God and give to him the best of what I have left. It’s a little thing I was raised believing in. I am so thankful for the people & places that already invited me back for next year based on trust in me.
I will say I have every intention of singing and touring as long as God allows. If I try to go a mile without him, Ill fail.
I have been asked if it will be a Quartet or a Trio or a Mixed Group or just me. I will tell you straight up. I am looking for talented people who would like to join in the next phase of this group. In my mind I have a vision of what I would like it to sound like. I have several people in mind that by what ever miracle it would take to work with them, I pray for that to happen every hour.
I know from 40 + years of experience I could put together a quartet that would not only sound great but would have a purpose as well.
It’s always been more than just the music for us. That’s not going to change for me.
For now, I’m going alone for a while. until the right one’s come along. I wont settle for any less than the ones who believe in the one they are singing about.
For the second time in my life I have been faced with a decision on whether to go on or to stop. I know I made the right decision in 1992 and I feel going on now in any capacity is the right thing as well.
I do believe I will be able to deliver an entertaining and meaningful worship program . I hope to see you soon.
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31
I’m going to rest on that verse for a while knowing its all going to work out.

Lilys Final Victory Lap
Make an effort this one last time to come out and see the last of the living legends. Don’t put this one off. It may never pass this way again.
The Weatherfords
Steves Message
With the recent announcement of the retirement of original group member Lily Fern Weatherford, The Weatherford name now enters a new chapter in Gospel Music history. The name Weatherford has been consistent with quality and dedication for close to 70 years. That commitment continues today under the direction of long time group member , Steve Weatherford.
As I enter this new chapter of my life I am sad to see the last of the living legends exit a stage I have shared with her for over 40 years. At the same time I am excited about what the Lord is doing not only in my life personally but how He wants me to continue.
I have spent a lifetime being trained by the best and performing with some of the greatest. The thought of starting a “ new” group in today’s world is a task not to be taken lightly. I feel as prepared as I can be for this new journey.
I will be continuing to tour as a soloist at first. I will also be seeking the Lords will on taking this musical ministry into a trio or even quartet phase.
I will be accepting resumes and demos in looking to rebuild the group immediately.
I prayerfully ask if you know of a church or promoter who would like to schedule me , feel free to contact us. My wife Standalee will be taking over Lily Ferns job in the office and will be handling most of the booking and business . I am thankful for her support of this ministry for over 25 years. She is a rock and my true north.
Please continue to pray for all of us here at the Weatherfords.
We love you and hope to see you soon.

Lily Ferns Retirement Annoucment
A Special Message from Lily Fern Weatherford
January 12, 2013
After much prayer and thought, my years of traveling with the Weatherfords will be coming to a close at the end of May, 2013. I turned 84 this past November, and have just celebrated my 70th year in full time ministry. i will be making our annual Florida tour that will last through February as well as one more tour to California and once that is completed at the end of May, I will be retiring. I have sold my home in Paoli, OK and will be moving to Broken Arrow, OK, where my daughter, Susan, and her husband Tim are living.
I feel that this is what the Lord wants for my life at this time. Over the past several years, there have been so many changes in the economy and and state of the country that it has become financially unfeasible for me to continue on in the same manner of ministry. Churches and pastors have changed their way of ministry and are not supporting the Gospel groups as they have in the past. The Weatherfords have always depended on the church and free will love offerings to keep us going. Fuel prices are outrageous as well as other costs of keeping on the road. All these things have caused me to come to this decision.
Steve is planning to continue in some form. He will be making announcements as to the future of the Weatherfords. Steve has been faithful to the Weatherfords for 37 years and he wishes to carry on. I would appreciate it if you would support him as you have supported us with your love and prayers. You can contact him through his website at theweatherfords.com.
